Cabo for a change?
So for a change the wife and I went to Los Cabos and stayed at the Fiesta Americana. We had a great time in Cabo, the resort was unbelievable and the weather was outstanding. We both still prefer Aruba and will be returning for our usual March vacation. We prefered Aruba because the food is much better, the dowtown area isn't full of people trying trying to sell you everything and you just feel much safer.
Anyhow, here are some of our CABO pictures.

A Recent Question
A question came recently about wether i would reccomend staying at the stelaris casino during renovations.
When I was there in March they were doing over the lobby. In all honesty I liked the old lobby better and have not seen the new bar yet. I would still stay there however because the rooms are great the service is great and the pool and beach area are always the cleanest. some of the hotels do not deal with the beach seaweed as effectively as the Marriott. when you do not remove it right away it will stink up the beach.
So i would say yes stay there. by the way I am no way affiliated with the hotel. I have stayed there a couple times and been in all of the others and it is my favorite. The Hyatt is unbelievable as well, but I can only speak to it as someone who walked through and had a meal there.
Thanks,
J
P.s. let me know what you decide!

Great phone call
I recieved a great phone call today from Marriott to check in regarding when we are visiting Aruba again. It's still a month or 2 away before we can book for the 3rd week of March to celebrate our aniversary once again on the happy island of Aruba.
We decided to try Cabo in September, but I know I just know it will pale in comparison to our annual Aruba trip. As you already know when the wife says she wants to check out Cabo, because thats where the "stars" go and we can use our time share points you just need to go.

My sister going to Aruba?
Our posts here and the photo's provided may lead to my sister going to Aruba in the winter. She told me she was looking for a place that was safe, had beutiful beaches, good food, and the weather was always great. I told her without hesitation that she just described Aruba to a tee. I also told her thanks for the idea for a post.

Well my wife and I will be back in Aruba staying at the Marriott Stelaris Resort and Casino once again. We can't wait. We decided to try something a little different in September and go to Cabo. I know we will like it but at the same time I am sure it won't be Aruba.
So next March week 12 we will be there on the happy island. Hope you can join us!!

All inclusive = Bad Idea

When you sit down and do the math and also think of everything you are missing out on it's a classic no brainer. Consider this, the Occidental Grand in the high rise section is a beautiful resort BUT if you use RCI to get you room they make you pay additional $175 or so per person per day.
The first problem with this is I don't spend that much on food and drinks everyday. On the days I might spend this much on food and drink, I don't do it all at the hotel. Which brings me to:
The second problem is Aruba is a safe country that has a ton of great restaurants to eat at. Why would you overpay to be forced to eat at the resort everyday?
All I am saying is shop around and look closely at the numbers. If all inclusive still makes sense, go for it. BUT if not take advantage of the great bars and restaurants and do not go all inclusive.
If you want tips on the hotels, post a comment and ill post on it.

Take the Jolly Pirates Boat in Aruba!
When you visit Aruba make sure to take 2 hours out of your day to go on the Jolly Pirates Boat. They launch right off the beach in front of Moomba Beach, which is a nice bar in between the Marriott Surf Club and the Holiday Inn. They have an open bar during the trip and they keep 'em coming! It is a beautiful ship with an outstanding crew that truly is there to please. After you sail up the island a bit they anchor off and there is a rope swing where you can swing off into the water which is always fun. This is a great evening event that does not get to crazy so it is perfect for most ages. Click here to check out Jolly Pirates.

Aruba Restaurants
Last year on the 25th of March my wife and I had a wonderfully romantic sunset dinner out on the deck at La Trattoria - El Farro Blanco which is the Italian restaurant that is located next to the California Lighthouse in Aruba. I have already made a reservation for this year and will be celebrating my second anniversary there in 12 days! Aruba has so many wonderful restaurants and if you plan it right you can really take advantage of some of the most beautiful sunsets i have ever seen.

What to do in Aruba?
There is so much to do in ARUBA. I enjoy the relaxation the island offers, but you mush plan an all out fun part night. If you are looking to do this than think no further than the KUKOO KUNUKU DINNER AND BAR-HOPPING PARRANDA. Basicly this is a Bus trip that takes you around the island and stops at a bunch of bars you may not have gone to otherwise. The staff are fun people who will go out of their way to make your trip as fun as possible. EVERY time I go to Aruba I go on this trip. You can find them by going to there website http://www.kukookunuku.com/ or asking the folks working at your hotel. This is a picture of my wife and I getting ready in front of the Bus!
